Shai Frumkin Du Rietz is an Award-Winning Actress and Writer based between Los Angeles and New York City. She graduated from the Two Year Conservatory Program at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, NYC, where she was the Vincent D'Onofrio Scholarship award winner.
Her short film, Crush, which she co-wrote, co-produced, and starred in, went to the Hip Hop Film Festival (NYC), Festival De Cannes - Court Metrage (France), Chelsea Film Festival (NYC), The Collaborative Film Festival (LA), Picture's Up! Film Festival (LA), Canadian Screen Award Qualifying - Oakville Film Festival (Canada), Boulevard Film Festival (NYC), Strasberg Film Festival (NYC), and more. For the latter, she won the award of Best Actress in a Leading Role. The film also won the awards of Best of Fest, Best Director, and Best Actor in a Leading Role. Her second film, Dream State, which she wrote, starred in, and co-produced, was an Official Selection to the Chelsea Film Festival (NYC), First-Time Filmmaker Session (UK), Lift-Off Sessions (UK), Hip Hop Film Festival (NYC), The Changing Minds Young Filmmakers Film Festival (NYC).
Both films aired on CUNY TV Channels for a limited run.
Shai recently starred in an Anthology Series by Jaime Zevallos (Marvel's Cloak and Dagger), as well as the feature film Shooting Sid, directed by Zevallos.
Shai is currently developing several more exciting film and TV projects!
